I've finished internship at the first firm I went to on Wednesday, and immediately I started on Thursday at another firm again. I have been so tired for the past 2+ weeks! 9 to 6 working really isn't for me.. :/ Especially when the firms are 50min-70min away from my house.. I have basically no time to relax + lack of sleep every single day! I'm so glad it's weekend now. Just slept the whole afternoon to replenish sleep and I'm feeling much better.

I have 2 more weeks to go at the current firm. Then I have 1 MONTH at a third one in july. ohgoshhh... but then again this is the kind of life I''ll be living after I graduate. :(

I've been so busy lately it's crazyyy!

My sister having her P4 SA1 so I've been tutoring her in the day until she sleeps. Then I'd bathe + dinner then pack mails till about 2-4am in the morning (and wake up at 12+ the next day hehe).

However i can't sleep in anymore coz I just started to do internship which working hours is 9-6pm. Today was my first day and I only slept at 4am the day before! Luckily first day is chillax day so there wasn't anything to do.. I just kept runnnig for the pantry! Had green tea, soya bean and coffee in one afternoon loll. I came back home feeling so horribly shag and nauseous due to lack of sleep. Must (try to) sleep early today!

HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY!

I think the number of times I've blogged this year can be counted with one hand. LOUSY BLOGGER seriously. My life is just too boring to blog about anything. :S Just been busy with school and Magical Tannsu. I don't even go out much anymore! And i haven't karaoked for the LONGEST TIME.

Hello! I haven't blogged for so long seriously!

Life is HECTIC.

I've been up all night and I'm not sure if I should sleep now coz I need to wake up at 7am. If I sleep now I'll have 50min of sleep and most likely wake up more tired than I am now...

I'm seriously dreading today coz of all the mails I have to pack. I chose a veryy wrong timing to post up the damaged palettes and surprise packs, coz I had a Take Home Exam paper over the weekend (which is the reason why im still up!) so i didn't have time to pack at all. Somemore alot of the orders are the damaged palettes which are gonna take alot of time to bubble wrap. And I only replied emails till yesterday afternoon so dunno how many more to come. Omgosh. NOT looking forward. Normally I'd be happy with orders but since I hadn't had any sleep tonight (last night? just now? lol dunno what to call it man), tomorrow is going to be a long hard day.. PLUS I got a class presentation on Thursday, which I'm quite nervous about and I haven't had the time to prepare. :/

Just a silly little rant coz a sleepy woman is an angry woman. Shall I sleep? Lol i think i should.. 50min better than nothing huh. (now left 40min) Goodnights!

So I don't have the number either. They contacted me after they saw my blog post. Really hope you guys get your stuff soon!

Singsale seemed to have seen my blog post (and commented) Which I don't know how come coz my blog isn't very established or anything. But a person called Jim contacted me and said the order had been sent out some time ago from Australia and he will investigate into the matter. And will refund me if the package is missing.

Is pretty terrible.

In summary, credit card charged immediately, then end of story. Customer service does not exist. Package still not received after almost 2 months as I'm writing this post.

I placed my order on 21 nov 2010. Intending for it to be a christmas gift. (Which of course didn't happen). After I placed my order I got an email saying it takes 7-21 days to arrive.

After 2 weeks, my order hasn't arrived but I was going overseas, so I contacted them through the inquiry system on the website and asked them whether they have sent out the package, and if I could change the mailing address if they haven't sent it out yet. Coz I was going to be overseas for 3 weeks. No reply.

Then about a week after that, they said they are sorry but one of the pieces I bought was out of stock, and they will refund to my credit card. (which as I last checked, also hasn't happen). No response to my previous enquiry. And I don't know why they took 3 weeks to figure out that one of the pieces was out of stock. But I thought, at least it means they probably have packed my purchase and prob going to send it soon right? Wrong.

After I came back from overseas, which was another 2 weeks after, around end dec, I still had not received it and the status was STILL delivery requested. And still no reply of the previous inquiry. What's the use of having a sophisticated inquiry system with dates and record keeping and everything when you aren't going to look at it and respond to the inquiries?? It was already like 5 weeks (and I get complained by my customers for not replying in the same day!) so I decided to send in another inquiry to ask where the hell is my order (I asked politely).

Still no reply after days. I was getting pretty worried so I googled singsale to see if other people have received their stuff. Turned out this guy (and MANY others) had the same experience. He found out the main company's website (ozsale.com.au) and complained and he got a reply! I contacted ozsale immediately and FINALLY, I got a response from singsale. "I will just check the status of this order."

Huh? That's it? Shouldn't you give me a good explanation why it took so long, or at least tell me when I can expect it?

After more than a week again, I logged in and it finally says despatched. But as I half expected, the tracking number wasn't working.

I'm already like super patient and nice about this? There's another girl who ordered 2 weeks before Christmas, didn't get her order on time and was so angry and wanted to ask for refund. I ordered like 6 weeks before Christmas and it didn't even come. And for a company who just treat you as non-existent, what good is it to ask for a refund? Sigh. All the more they won't bother to reply.

I think I'm being too kind to them. It's so ridiculous! How busy r they that they need 5-6 weeks to send out my stuff? And didn't even bother to explain or anything. Seriously, they just treat their customers like credit cards and nothing more,

Really disappointed. Will never ever purchase again.

Hi girls!

Happy new year! Can't believe it's already 2011. And in April it will be Magical Tannsu's third year anniversary!

Time sure flies. I would really like to thank everyone out there. Thank you for supporting my little shop. Sometimes I still can't believe how much Magical Tannsu has grown and how super awesome you guys are! We know that we still have sooooooo much more to improve. Thanks to all who has given us good feedback and warm compliments. Thanks to all who has given constructive feedback or complaints. Sorry to all who had been disappointed with Magical Tannsu for some silly mistakes that we've made. We will try our best to improve for the coming year!

iPad + coach bags sale!

I'm blogging on my new iPad!

Seriously, those who say that ipad is nothing more than a big iPod touch, they r either competitors or they never really used a iPad in depth. It's so much more shiok than the iPod touch or iPhone! The screen is so big and clear and so much more comfortable to look at. Much easier to blog and watch YouTube and check mail etc. I love love it! It definitely can't replace a laptop (though some found that after jailbreak it could), but it's a super awesome entertainment tool.

I finally bought all the spree stuff! Went to 4 different walgreens more than 7 times, rite aid and cvs as well. Drugstore.com didn't have everything instock and the stores are also oos on some popular products, but finally got every spreers' first choice shades! I could have gotten alternative shades to save a few trips but didnt want to disappoint any of my spreers... ^^

Ive been in US for more than 2 weeks now. Have been to disneyland, Oregon, Washington and now back in California. Really enjoying my trip! Coach bags are much cheaper in US. I'm bringing back some to sell and estimated selling price will be around S$300 to S$400+ for medium to large handbags. In singapore coach stores the prices are about S$800+ and above. My prices are gonna be cheaper than reebonz. And since I handpicked the bags, they r definitely pretty styles and not leftover unpopular ones! So definitely good deals. Do keep a look out for it if u are interested. You can join the mailing list to be updated :) mailing list is on the main page magicaltannsu.blogspot.com on then right side panel. I'm not sure if the limit has been reached though, if it's full then just check back magical tannsu often! The coach bags collection definitely will be up in January. Yup my exams are over!

I'm not as happy as I thought I would be though. Like I was much happier before the last paper, thinking about how exam is going to end soon. I kept smiling super big when studying and when on my way to school etc. But when it finally ended, I wasn't as thrilled as I should be. Maybe it's the you-only-want-what-you-can't-get thing?

But i'm still happy enough! At least I get to sleep and not worry about anything now! (technically "anything" only refers to school and exams coz I had quuuuite a bit of worries that are Magical Tannsu related. was totally stressed out yesterday morning over mannnyy stuffs lol. wholesalers, deliveries being delayed, products out of stock, mails to pack, meetups, etcetcetc.....)

US spree is already ongoing! Taking orders till 6th December :) Loots will arrive (together with me) on 28th Dec! I know it's kind of long. But I try to make it up by having a shorter ordering time, and I can really try to make sure everything is available by trying the stores if anything is OOS online, and wrapping everything nicely so that nothing breaks during shipping, and really mail everything asap after I'm back :D Normal sprees would take about 2 weeks or more to arrive too, and they usually take orders for many days. So it's not that bad.. right? :D I had cherryculture spree that arrived after 3 months. LOLL. At least my time is certain and definite yahhh. Haha *trying super hard to justify*

To celebrate my liberation, I went to Wild Wild Wet with the bf followed by Harry Potter. Wild Wild Wet is still the same as 4 years ago. The only difference is this time I had hot shower! Not sure if I was just noob and didn't notice or they just installed. But I love it! Harry Potter was GOOOD. Really exceeded my expectations since I didn't love any of the previous movies very much. But this one is very nicely done. It's almost like a mild thriller. I screamed a couple of times but umm i was the only one who screamed in the entire movie. There were some scary parts and the plot is kind of a mystery solving type thing. I don't know but it was good. Watch if you haven't! Oh but since it's only half the book, the movie ended almost like a tragedy. Shan't tell you too much but kinda sad...

I'm going out again tomorrow! Gonna eat buffet then kbox then dinner at a mystery place. Bf planned it as a belated celebration of my birthday. (Coz my birthday was right in the middle of exam mugging) Life's good after exams!

I would be doing my monthly favourites tomorrow! I have some really loved new favourites this month. :D

My exams start on Wednesday!!

Been mugging day and night for the past 2+ weeks. With Youtube and Zombie Farm as my entertainment, and jango.com as my music while mugging. I LOVE JANGO! It's the best customizable internet radio EVER.

I just checked through all my infos etc on Magical Tannsu. And gosh there are soooooooo many typos. So ashamed of myself lol. Back then I was just quite sloppish with this shop.

REALLY EXCITED ABOUT MY VACATION IN DECEMBER! I'm going US California. Will be going to disneyland and casino and taking lush baths and burning candles by victoria and all that good stuff? Have already placed my lush order for use while in US and also to bring back. Going to place my candles by victoria orders sooooonn! Sorry I wouldn't be spreeing lush and CBV coz they are really too heavy. I will be spreeing for alot of other products that are lighter and more luggage friendly :)

Seriously can't wait for my exams to end.

1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?

The first time I wore makeup was in Seconday school for choir performance. But for wearing makeup to go out, I started after JC when I was about 19. I started with just one concealer and one lipgloss.. And built over the years to what I have today. Lol.

2. How did you get into makeup?

Youtube! The video that got me into makeup was Michellephan's first ever video, called Natural Makeup Tutorial or something like that. Back then she wasn't famous yet and she didn't have any other video on her channel other than this one. Then i started to watch more and more videos and started buying makeup.

3. What are some of your favorite brands?

I use all kinds of brands. Some of the ones that I buy the most are MAC, Maybelline, Benefit, Revlon, and Dior. And of course, my own. ^.^

4. What does makeup mean to you?

It's something that can boost confidence of women and I think it's a great invention. It can be used everyday to enhance the beauty of women, but it's also can be an artistic work.

5. If you could only wear 4 products on your face what would they be?

Concealer, eyeliner, finishing powder and lip & cheek tint (haha cheating!)
To be more product specific, I would use any medium - full coverage concealer (MT concealer palette or any maybelline concealer), MT gel liner, elf complexion perfection powder (LOVE), Benetint or Lioele Pinky tint.

6. What is your favorite thing about makeup?

That it can make my skin look better than it is :)

7. What do you think about drugstore makeup vs high end makeup?

I think drugstore makeup can be quite comparable to high end ones. I prefer high end liquid foundation and blushes, but my favourite powders, eyeliners and mascaras come mainly from the drugstore. Eyeshadow wise, both drugstore and high end has their goods and bads.

8. What is one tip of advice you can give to a beginner?

Less is more. It took me such a long time to realise that. You don't have to put BB cream AND liquid foundation AND concealer AND powder. Even if you wanna put all, make sure you only apply a BIT of each. Your makeup actually las ts longer and looks much better if you use less. If you feel that your makeup isn't providing enough coverage, the solution is not to pile it on, but to switch to a higher coverage product.

9. What is one makeup trend you never understood?

Bright lipsticks. E.g. hot pink, bright red...

10. What do you think about the beauty community on YouTube?

I like so many of the gurus on Youtube. My favourites are Michellephan, Allthatglitters21, Juicystar07 and frmheadtotoe. By favourite I mean i watch every single video they upload. I subscribe to a lot more but for the rest I just pick the ones I'm interested in to watch.

I feel really really blessed :) With my fabulous family, awesome boyfriend and friends, great business and customers, really nothing to complain about!

Didn't really celebrate much, just had a buffet lunch with my closest family.

My birthday wish will be to do well in my exams this semester. LOL!

October Favourites!

As usual, no pictures! Someone please invent a software that I can connect my camera to my comp and any photos that I take while connected will automatically be uploaded onto blogger. LOll.

Here are my favourites of October!

#1 Lioele Water Drop BB Cream
I love this!! Before I tried this Missha was my favourite as it's the easiest to blend out of all that I've tried. But this is even easier to blend than the Missha one! It goes on literally like water. Feels so refreshing and cooling on the skin and you can layer 10 layers and still feel you have nothing on. The coverage is light to medium. Not alot but it does cover and it's very buildable. My skin turned from Oily to Dry and that's why I started to buy moisturising face products. This really didn't disappoint me!

#2 Lioele Blooming Pop Pinky Tint
This is about 1/3 of the price of Benetint? I have the benetint and I really love it. But this one wins even benetint! It smells great, nice colour payoff, and lasts longer than benetint for a fraction of the price. :D

#3 Harajuku Lovers EDP in Music
I bought both Music and Baby. I got Baby coz someone reviewed it as the best one out of all HL perfumes. But it's really not my type of scent so I gave it to my sister. But Music on the other hand is AWESOME. It's pretty much all I used in October (except occasional days I used Be Delicious). I can't really describe the scent but it's sweet but not too much. It's quite unique and is just so ME. Love it! This is the first perfume that really hits me as MY SCENT.

#4 IQQU Advanced Sunscreen
I think I've talked about this countless of times before. But I gotta mention it again this month coz it "saved" me so many times! I'm on medication for my skin therefore I cannot go out without a sunscreen. And there had been so many times that I only remembered sunscreen after I've completed my makeup. That's when IQQU Sunscreen comes in as it can be applied over makeup. It really doesn't ruin your makeup, but it does take away abit of the coverage since you are rubbing your face when applying. But that's super okay compared to having to take off everything and redo. :D

I think that's about it! I've been on project 10 Pan so didn't really buy many new things. I'm finally making progress and have finished 6 items! Yipee. (But in the process I probably have bought more than 6 since I didn't restrict myself from buying) But still! It's a progress :)

And I'm actually anticipating some MAC for my birthday... So exciting! Loll

Skin 79 Absolute Total Bb Cream

I bought this because it's supposed to have diamond + 5 precious stones essence inside or something. And I never tried skin79 BB cream before... But the coverage of this is almost non existent. Everything else about it is great, quite easy to blend, very nice floral scent, beautiful packaging, awesome pump... BUT there is almost no coverage! It does give a nice glow so I use it as a highlight now... It's quite expensive so i wish I didn't get it. I tried the skin79 VIP Gold and Oriental Gold and like these 2 better :)

I'm now in a 哭笑不得 state.
(meaning dunno whether to laugh or cry)

A girl bought something from me today... She couldn't make it for Kovan meetup and didnt want postage and didn't want to collect at my place and for some reason didn't buy from others for 1 week and she really seemed to need the item by today... So i made a trip specially for her to pass her her purchase... At the meetup she seems really really nice and it all ended very well and we even shook hands. And she said she would be buying more from me.

But...

It all turned super duper sour and I don't even know whyy.

She asked for a discount and I just told her the regular discounts that I give to all customers. (I try to treat all customers the same you see?) Then she told me others are cheaper than me and she took cab today and it was so expensive etc... And she said she will get from others next time.

So I replied:

"sure np, actually you could have bought from them this time round too, i wldn have minded. (coz she said it's expensive and she took cab, i didnt know y she stil insist to buy from me oso) and I do accept cancellation of orders. i actually made a special trip for you. (to show it would be good for both of us if she had ordered from others, to substantiate my pt that i really wldn have minded if she didnt order from me). guess you didnt want to back out after u placed ur order (i put this in to praise her for her integrity). but no worries feel free to get from anyone next time. :) really not obliged to get from me."

I totally 100% meant what i said with nooooo sarcarsticity at all.. I swear to GOD (though i'm freethinker, I do believe in higher beings) and I swear to my life and soul that i totally meant it...

I guess coz i only put ONE smiley face with no exclaimation marks she thought I was sarcastic?

then she replied, "i don't mean anything to offend you here, im jz trying to ask for a better pricing. seems you are too bitter that i'm taking from somebody else. please dont sms anymore coz i only mean business to you so don't get angry and be bitter just like tt. i wish to cut off the connection from you after this sms."

Aiya. I really not bitter at all.. Really lah. Im feel super wronged now. :/

To further substantiate my pt that I wasn't being sarcastic and I wouldn't have minded that she didnt order from me, it was really not convenient for me to meet her today. Coz my dad just went overseas (yesterday) so all household chores was on me. I met her at 1pm.. Before that I was rushing to cook lunch for my sis then chiong out to meet her one.. I was really trying to be nice to cater to her needs, not desperately begging for business or anything...

Maybe she meet with alot of bitter sellers before that's why she's prob more sensitive? But i swear i'm not like tt!

I did send her 2 smses after tt explaining tt im not bitter and stuff. Lol. Hope she understand.

I just updated some information on the website and edited the navigation! It's now a pretty pink colour and I've also further categorised the palettes into eye, face, lip and blush! Hope it'd be easier to navigate now.

Also removed all information on 250C Compassvale St on the site because I don't find a need for meetup anymore that MT's rate of damage for postage is so low. My excessive bubble wrapping didn't go to waste! (: Also, it's very very hard to prevent instances when I'm held up last minute or my battery just dies on me. Especially when recently I've been falling asleep with my books open and lights on and handphone not plugged in. Too much work and too little time. :/ When that happens I'd be left with like 1 bar of batt for the second day... I'd always turn off gprs and wifi and refrain from smsing or making calls.. But even so it only lasts half the day... But I bought a backup battery on ebay last week! Hope it comes soon. Oh and together with the battery, I bought a full pink housing + pink trackball for my BB. Price is about $24+ shipping which is like half price of last year (coz 8900 is an old phone now i think). So it's more affordable and I decided to go for it since my BB is sooooo badly scratched.

Okay. Onto the topic.

I'm pretty glad that heaven only let me stumble onto "the review" 2 days ago... Even though it was a really bad one, it didnt impact my business much.. At least I didn't feel it. Business was pretty much the same for the past year even though I did zero advertising. If I had seen it last year I would probably have been very badly affected. This shop really did make me a much much stronger person than I used to be. When I first started out, I used to get affected over everything... Every complaint that customer makes or bad experiences, I would brood over it for days and even weeks and really get very emotional. But as time passes, I grew more hardy. I realised that it's impossible to please everyone and it's just impossible to do the right thing perfectly every single time... Everybody makes mistakes.. And yes, even blogshop sellers! ;) Nobody who knows well me in person would call me irresponsible or unfriendly or whatever other descriptions I've been called before. And I'm quite surprised that people find me as someone who has many blogs and updates them alot. because I really am not a "blog person" at all. I take blogging as a task to let you guys know that I am still running MT.. and I guess that's just the limitations of online business that you only see people through a screen.. And any misunderstandings will be largely amplified. I've learnt to accept critiques in a more mature manner and understand my limitations and improve what I can. I feel that this is the best thing I've gotten out of the shop. And I do sincerely thank all that have criticised me for making me a better and stronger person (:
(like, really sincerely thanking them, no hard feelings or anything. im not trying to be sarcastic.)

The incident did quite affect my mood the past 2 days but I feel okay now. So for all who's concerning, I'm okay! :D

And I better go rush my assignment that's due in a week and I haven't started!

This post is in response to a review that I stumbled upon today. It was written more than a year ago but because the customer did not make any attempt to feedback to us directly, we were not made known to the review or any of her unhappiness.

Before I start my explanation, I would like to sincerely apologize to Ms Candice Chua for her unpleaseant experience with Magical Tannsu. I'm really sorry. I take responsibility for everything that had happened and do feel sincerely sorry, and I will take note of it and improve accordingly.

"I added everything to cart, checked out and got an automated invoice instantly. There was no instruction on payment mode, I had to scour her very unorganized blog site before I found the "Payment Procedure" tucked away in a obscure corner of the sidebar."

I would like to explain that the email you have received is not an invoice. It is titled "Magical Tannsu Confirmation Email for order ref XXXXX", and that is what it is, a confirmation email. The whole purpose of it was to inform you that we have received your order in our database. That is why payment mode was not stated in the email. Our practice back then was to reply the customer his/her confirmation email with the payment details. As shown in this example

What was on the blog was more of a for-your-information, to inform customers of the payment mode should they need to know of it before placing order. We really don't expect our customers to go searching for it and transfer on their own, though if they do, it'd be really nice of them and it would also speed up things for the customer.

I'm sorry that you find the site unorganised, as the best I can do is only to insert all the information in the sidebar, which I would think any other blogshops does the same. If you have a better suggestion on where to place the information, please do let us know. Thanks!

I do understand and acknowledge that there are many blogshops out there that are way more efficient than me. However, I would like to point out that I never ever misrepresent my services. I never put my shop forward as a shop that replies within 24 hours and a shop that sends shipment the next working day. In fact, it was stated on the site that we reply email within 2 days and we mail out packages within 3 working days. That was (and still is) our policy and we had no intention to compete with other shops in terms of this. If you cannot accept this speed, we are completely fine with you purchasing from another store. This is not to say that we do not appreciate our customers, but just that we know our ability and we want to represent it truthfully, and you are free to choose in the market who you want to purchase from. Your friend's birthday was on saturday and you placed an order on Tuesday night. Even if we could have replied by Wednesday and mailed on Thursday, it would most probably not reach you on time. We do highly encourage our customers to order early, especially in an online shopping context when you don't get your products on the spot.

This shop was not and is not and never will be, my full time job or source of income. I set up this shop because I enjoy sharing good products with girls out there that may wish to have access to these products. I do not rely on this for a living. I do still want to enjoy my life as a student and as a teenager (back then I was..). I don't really want to let this shop affect my normal life more than it already had. Also, I only have one 'personal' blog, which is this url. The rest are all used for the store purposes (sprees, instocks etc). Therefore I don't know which "many blogs" you are referring to.. If you are referring to my personal blog, for that period of time i blogged on 31st aug, followed by 9th sept, 14th sept, 16th sept. I feel quite silly having to explain my personal life to you but I really don't find it that frequent. If you are referring to my shop, please understand that I do have to update my store frequently so that people know that I'm active. I don't think it's quite fair to call me irresponsible or inefficient for replying at a speed that is not up to your expectations because I never claimed to reply within 24 hours or mail out the next day in the first place. I also I really hope you can understand and forgive my position. (:

However, we do try to reply our emails as soon as possible. You will notice that the in the example above we replied to the email the next day. I checked and for that period of time, almost all emails were replied the next day. (due to space constraint i shall not post more screenshots. should anyone need more proof that we replied emails the next day, please let us know :)) The reason why your email was replied only 2 days later was because of the way gmail functions. You sent in the payment details on 8th September, and then you sent another email on 9th september. Unfortunately, that was before we replied emails up to your email. And the way gmail functions is that when you send another email on 9th September, it will put all your email as dated on 9th September. Simply put, we reply emails from the bottom and yours got pushed up. Which is why you only got a reply on Thursday instead of Wednesday. Therefore, your "chasing twice" was actually what caused the late reply. However, we still do feel deeply sorry for any inconvenience caused.

I have to say that this is entirely my fault and I cannot apologize enough to you. Sorry sorry sorry! However, please do give me a chance to explain. I reached home slightly past 9 on that day. You were actually right to give me the benefit of the doubt, as my battery did indeed die. As soon as i reached home, I put my phone on charge. The problem is, my phone is a Blackberry. And please let me explain that when a Blackberry phone battery dies, even when you put it on charge it does not regain signal. It has to charge to a certain percentage before it is able to receive signals. It does take quite some time. Which is why at 9.15 my phone still had no signal. My memory fails to remember the details, so I forgot what I did while waiting for it to charge, but I'm guessing either bathe or eat dinner, as i couldn't just sit there and watch it charge. Then when I checked it, I saw that I received many miss calls. I checked the time and it was about 5-10 minutes earlier. Thus stupid me thought that you only waited for 5-10 minutes which is about the average waiting time for self-collection at my place. I told you that I just reached home because it is not entirely wrong, as i probably just bathed or something, and it was a quick way to reply to your sms as I was also rushing to go down to meet you. I'm sorry!

As a side note, I actually receive about 30 emails per day and back then I had people collecting at my place almost every day. I put the time as 9pm and therefore I do try to get back before 9pm everyday. There are actually many customers who come at midnight or even past midnight. I'm sorry that as a one-man-business, I could not keep track of all the meetups. I also do not blacklist buyers who opt for meetup and don't turn up. I do not remember at the back of my mind whether I have meetup on that day and I just meet the customer when they sms me that they are here. Your meetup was probably one of the many that I had in the week and I had nothing against you. It was just a very unfortunate coincidence that on that particular day my phone battery died at the most inappropriate time. I'm super sorry about it!

Actually, since then we have improved accordingly. We realised that our customers actually do trust us enough to transfer payment to us. Therefore, we have added payment details in the confirmation email to speed up the process. We have also removed the self-collection at 250C Compassvale St option from the cart to prevent any further mishaps from happening. I think it is also better for the customer to shop elsewhere if they are urgent. (:

Please also note that our products are instock and instocks carry more risk and capital involvement therefore are placed at a higher price than sprees. It's not quite fair to compare that way. (:

okay something's freaking me out.

Today I squeezed my little sample of Benefit Erase Paste (which actually contained aLOT of product surprisingly) into a jar so it's easier to use. And the smell of Erase Paste just hit me. It was just oddly familiar. I sat there for 5 minutes smelling that thing and trying to remember where i've smelled it before.

And guess where.

It smells EXACTLY, and i mean it, exactly, like a sample of Lohashill BB Cream I got really long time ago.

I don't understand. Why does Benefit and Lohashill smell the same? Did they add in the same fragrance... Or, came from the same factory? D:

It's not a bad smell. it actually smells really nice. I just don't get how 2 brands from complete opposite of the price scale smells exactly the same... It's not even like a common scent like rose or green apple or tea tree. It's a very unique scent that's why I could remember it..

Someone enlighten me? I'm slightly disturbed...

I pack mails till want to puke le.

Its not really a sudden surge of orders, just that usually it's a good mix of brushes and palettes. The past weekened I had orders mostly for palettes. And it's a pain to pack palettes coz i have to scotch tape layer after layer of bubble wrap.. Imagine sitting there for a few hours just repeating the same steps, take bubble wrap, wrap the palette, take scotch tape, tape x 4... repeat at least 8 times for one palette...

Anyway, mario badescu is really pretty good. For my super duper persistent acne i'm actually seeing visible results. Pretty impressed!

Anyway, Some favourite products at the moment:

Revlon colorstay liquid foundation
This foundation has really great coverage. Lasting power is decent. Probably lasts about 3-4 hours on me (which is already pretty good for me! not sure why but makeup just doesn't stay on me even with primers). However, I don't like to wear it often coz it does feel pretty heavy. But for important occasions it's good to have!

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream
Smells great, looks very natural, easy to blend! About medium coverage, which is not bad for a bb cream.

ZA Vitamin Powder
It's supposed to be a skincare product, but I love it as a setting powder. It's great on days you are just wearing BB cream and you wanna look like you have no makeup on. Regular loose powders still would look slightly makeup-ish, this one not at all. It feels and works very similar to the MUFE HD powder. With a great smell too. And I love that it's a skincare product so I don't feel guilty putting it on!

Benefit benetint
The best lip product ever. I started to dislike putting on lipstick or gloss.. Just coz it feels uncomfortable. Probably a stage I'm going through. Lol. But benetint is great coz it just soaks into the lips and stain them, feeling like there's nothing on there :)

10 Blush Palette
I only started to try this a while ago coz I have like 30+ single blushes already, didn't think I'd need this. But there was a badly damaged one (like 5 out of 10 colours smashed) that for sure nobody would want even if I sell like $5. And which can't be used as a tester coz it's so ugly.. So i kept it for myself. And gosh, it's really good! It's super pigmented and very easy to blend. It's so pigmented that you can't "swirl" your brush in coz you'd be getting too much products. You should just tap your brush on it and it'll get the perfect amount. The colour selection is great too. it beats like all my drugstore blushes and is close quality to my MAC one. You can get it at my store but there are many sellers selling it. You don't have to get it from me coz i'm not recommending just coz i sell it. I really believe in it :)

MAC Tendertone
It's moisturising. But that's not why I love it.. I love it coz it smells DIVINE!! Feel so happy putting it on coz it smells sooooooooooooooo good. I need to get more when it's released again! Or get it from CCO when i go to the States in Dec. :D

And as usual, my 88 original and shimmer palettes that I grab all the time!

I've been trying to wear less makeup as i'm trying to heal my acne. I haven't broke out since i started using a prescritive product that contains adapalene. But my scars are still there. I have the type of skin that scars very easily. Each and every pimple i get will 100% lead to a scar. And it takes years to heal. Which just makes my face looks horrible even though I probably have just 2 growing zits. :( Hoping the adapalene will help my scars heal faster too. I'm also using my IQQU acne serum regularly, for me it doesnt help with my acne, but it improves the overall state of my skin, shrinks pores and and just brightens up the skin. And yesterday I went to sephora to grab the Mario Badescu drying lotion that I see so many videos on youtube recommending. It's S$68 but it's supposed to be really good and last really long. Maybe I'll review it some time later :)

School has been pretty good. I've finally settled down and really been reading my cases properly. I used to rely on summaries a lot. But since third year onwards we get to choose our electives, the subjects i take are the ones that i'm interested in, and I feel that i let myself down if I don't study properly.. Lol sounds like i'm damn hardworking. Actually i''m still super lazy but just more disciplined than before... I really like the professor that teaches me Tax Planning. He's like so brilliant and intelligent.. Haha. My Personal Property Law professor is good too. Spoonfeeds us notes and tries super hard to keep us entertained during class.. Love the spoonfeeding.. Lol..

Somehow people expects me to be a Makeup Artist or be really good at (or obsessed with) makeup just coz I sell them.. I guess I'm okay theory wise, but application wise.. Nah. Just look at me, still plain Jane. Never tried on other people too.. I just enjoy watching makeup videos coz the girls are so pretty (like elle and blair and michelle phhan), and its fun watching people transforming. LMAO. Sometimes I try on myself but i'm really not that obsessed lah. -.- Most of my makeup sits there do nothing..

If you have acne prone skin, especially if your acne 100% leaves a scar behind, you'll know how hard it is when it comes to putting on makeup. It's so difficult to cover and the redness still shows through even though you've out on N layers of foundation..

As you know, green cancels out red. However, green tinted primer has too little coverage to really cancel out anything, while green concealer is too much coverage that it looks unnatural. I've had the NYX concealer in a jar in green for almost 2 years now, and never really used it coz it's hard to blend to look natural since it's green after all.

However, I've just found a really good way to use it! Mix your green concealer with a tinted moisturiser such as a BB cream, and you'll get a green tinted BB cream. It covers your flaws while at the same time cancel out the redness on your skin, without being too unnatural. Take note though, the concealer should be a relatively thick consistency with medium to high coverage, and the BB cream should be a light liquidy consistency with medium coverage. That way you only need a tiny amount of product to erase your flaws. It's not going to 100% cover everything, but your face will look less red and your acne won't stand out as much. After which you can move on to spot concealing for better coverage :)

How to use the "powder brush" in the Essence of Beauty brush set

Hey girls!

Those who bought the Essence of Beauty brush set will know that it contains a Powder Brush that's wayy to small for what it's meant for. Now I'm just going to recommend a few uses for that brush :)

First, its a really good size for highlighting your cheekbones and nose bridge. The size is perfect for highlighting the cheekbones. You can also use it for contour, its pretty small so it's fairly easy to control.

Also, it's actually sort of similar to the MAC 109 brush, but smaller. So it actually works very well with liquid foundation. I use it for BB cream or liquid foundation and it blends the foundation out very well leaving no streaks. Also making the foundation looking very natural.

The third use is recommended in this video about covering up acne and blemishes and scars with makeup. Go watch :)

And you can be rest assured that the colours are exactly the same as the Coastal Scents one even though ours is unbranded (coz we get them direct from factory!). Special mention to the second video, Emily used a colour in the palette that looks completely white in the pan but actually comes off as a beautiful iridescent lilac pink. I've tried the look on myself and yup, the colour in out palette comes off exactly like in the video. Same for all the other colours :)

Back from vacation!

Hey gals!

I'm back from 1 month of vacation! Just opened the shop yesterday night and am overwhelmed with the number of orders today! Coz I was expecting a drastic fall in orders for at least a week before things get back on track. Gosh, I must really thank all of you for being so supportive and patient! And thanks for all the welcome back messages. Appreciate loads!

As you can see, the tagboard is taken off again. Always happens coz when I get busier I have no time to check the tagboard daily, and I realised its not good to put it there making people think that they can tag a question and get a prompt answer, when I might be answering only days later. The best way to make enquiries will still be email. I check at least once every 2 days :) Sms is fine too but no guaranteed reply, coz when i'm busy i'll have to ignore it and might forget about it later.

My vacation was absolutely fantastic. Did nothing but eat, rest and play! I gained 3kg in one month. Screamed when I stood on the weighing scale. But it's worth it for the good food. Yums. Love the roadside barbecues there. AWESOME.

I didn't go to the Expo for the entire month of course. I only went for 2 days and already buay tahan. Its crazy!!! SO freaking tiring. I expected having to queue for hours. It's fine if you get to sit down or even just stand there and wait. But i didn't expect the queue slowly but constantly moving, so you basically have to be walking baby steps for 2 hours or more and never get to rest. Can't sit down for even 1 second coz the queue is always moving (very very slowly) and if you sit down, people behind are going to squeeze past you. Now, who says Singaporeans are kiasu? They haven't seen the Chinese!

I got to see my little cousin during vacation. She's soooooooooooooo freaking adorable. She's the cutest baby I've ever seen! Only 16 month but she can understand everything you say and I'm dead serious. You tell her "sit on my lap and i'll wear your shoe for you", and she'll really come over and sit on your lap! Or, "don't touch this or it'll explode!" and she'll really stop touching. Or, "go and hug *whoever*" and she'll go over and raise her hands for a hug. How cute is that! She's always smiling and seldom cries. She can't talk yet, the only words she can speak are "mama", "bu yao (don't want)" and "mei you (don't have)". She calls everyone mama (including me and her grandparents). Damn cute lah. I was so sad when I had to leave her. Cried on the car and even when I was back in Singapore coz I really miss her. Luckily when I'm going US for vacation at the end of the year, she's going too. Cant wait!

Firstly, I'd like to say that I'm not someone who would take advantage of others. I've had this blog for like 2 years now and I've never blogged anything like this before. But this time i've really found a great deal that's why I'm sharing with you! Today I'm going to introduce to you a website that you can log in everyday, click a few things to earn points, and the points can be used to redeem a lot of wonderful prizes!

I've tried other similar websites which you can accumulate points and get items, but those sites needs just so ridiculously lots of points to redeem anything worth redeeming. An example is swagbucks. You earn points by searching using their search engine and by referring people. Sounds easy, but after I actually registered I realised how difficult it is. An ipod touch needs more than 50000 swagbucks to redeem, and you only get 3 swagbucks per day for using the swagbucks toolbar. Earning points by searching is given to you randomly and so far I've never earned anything from searching before (how unlucky lol). Plus, the search engine is quite horrible, I usually end up going back to google to search the same keyword anyway.. So to conclude, it's going to take me like 10 years to get anything substantial like an ipod touch. I've seen people doing videos of swagbucks and showing their wins, but they get 99.9% of their points from referring people. Which I don't wanna do because I've seen how difficult it is to earn points and I don't wanna waste your time. The worst thing is that swagbuclks doesn't ship outside US. TYPICAL of US sites. -.- You can check out swagbucks if you like, but definitely not recommended.

Glitzy-Glam mini review :)

Someone commented and asked me whether the quality of my glitzy-glam purchases are good. However blogger doesn't really link me the post that she commented on, so I shall reply here instead. Anyone I'm sure alot of you are interested!

Yes, the stuff that I bought are all good quality. The keychain is very thick material and very sturdy. I can foresee that it's going to last very long! Its also really convenient especially if I'm carrying alot of things but I want my key on hand, I can just slip around my wrist.

The flat wallet is decent quality. Not the best quality but then its only USD$9! I used it for about a month but I stopped using it coz I got my glitzy-glam hard wallet so I switched.. It is still in very good condition :) Only it's starting to look slightly dirty and used.

The hard wallet, omg, is fantastic quality! Everything is put together very well. It snaps shut and when you open and close it you can feel that its very sturdy. The material is also thick and strong. Have used it for about 2 months i think (i'm really bad at remembering time though!), and it still looks new! I really love it :)

That's all I've gotten from glitzy-glam so far! I'd say if you are considering the headband, don't buy coz its not very worth it, considering that you won't be wearing it out so why do you need ur initials on it, and also that the shipping makes it quite expensive (USD$13). And most importantly, Daiso sells such a good variety of headbands of different colour and material! You can get one for just S$2 :)

Don't get fooled by cosmetics companies!

Before i start this entry, I just wanna clarify that I AM an elf fan. I have many many products from elf. But I just discovered something today that I feel that I should share with you. This entry is only targeted to the elf eyeshadow primers. I still love many of their other products.

I'll just be straight forward here. e.l.f isn't as cheap as you think!

On first look, it does seem that e.l.f is SO MUCH CHEAPER. But is it really?

And its kind of funny when I read reviews of the elf eyelid primer on the elf website.. Someone said that the elf eyelid primer worked the same as the elf mineral eyeshadow primer, and that she will be switching to the eyelid primer now since its so much cheaper, and that elf shouldn't have launched the eyelid primer. Little did she know, that the price-per-ml of the elf eyelid primer is actually more expensive than the elf mineral primer!

And why did i said that elf fooled us? Because they do not indicate the volume of their products anywhere on the website! So you would never know when you place your order!

Also, bear in mind that the shipping cost when you order from elf website. And for Singaporeans, shipping cost to Singapore, as well as spree handling fees etc. The elf eyelid primer can be up to $7 mineral primer up to $15. It's almost the same as UDPP and TFSI already, and furthermore, UDPP and TFSI can be purchased readily at Sephora.

Sorry for the lack of update!

The past week and a half hasn't been so good for me... I know I've been bad, replying emails slow (some ppl took 4 days to get a reply) I'm really sorry! But its coz I'm going through something not very pleasant.. details of which I don't feel like talking about.. But now I'm feeling much better already. Brushes are your best friends!

I haven't used my brushes in makeup application for a long time... Why? Coz im such a freak lol. I'm super super hygiene concious. Like I don't eat anything that looks or feels less than CLEAN. I don't eat food that's dropped on the table, I stopped buying from my school's fruit stall when the auntie used her cut-fruit-hand to hold money. And i don't even drink water or any drink that's left open to the air for more than 15min to half an hour coz i'll think that bateria and dust would have gotten in it. Oh and utensils! If i take a chopstick/spoon or bowl/plate, i MUST run them under water before i use them. And I dry my face with tissue after i wash it, coz i feel that towels are exposed to air and therefore has.... (yah bateria and dust. you guess it! lol)

BUT!! I'm lazy too. LOL. You would never think such a combination would occur in someone, but it happened in me! So after using my brushes for a few times, i would feel like there's bacteria and dust trapped in it and I REFUSE to use them. But i'm too lazy to wash them too so they are just left there dirty and unloved, and i start to use my hand and disposable sponges to do my makeup.

SO i've been having sooo much problems with my makeup for the past few months. (YES! FEW MONTHS without washing my brushes LOLL) And it never occured to me that the problem lies with my application! I just thought my skin has become so bad that no makeup can even it out. But the day before yesterday I finally decided to clean my brushes, and so i used my brushes for my makeup today (just half an hour ago). And guess what?? Things becomes so easy with brushes!! No problem with blending, no uneven application, no problem with coverage.

And i wasn't even using some expensive brushes guys! I wasn't even using the essence of beauty foundation brush (which, as a matter of fact, wasn't washed and still dirty. haha). My friend showed me this Bobbi Brown foundation brush that she bought and she said its super awesome and it was $80+. (haha imagine the horror on my face, knowing how cheapskate i can be) Nope i wasn't using anything like that, just the $6.5 (or $5.9? cant remember) white handle one at Magical Tannsu, the most cheapo foundation brush ever? And it already makes such a huge difference in my application! Blending undereye concealer was so easy. Blending on the nose, around the nose, everywhere, was easy and flawless. For powder, I used the biggest powder brush in the 21 Piece Black brush set at Magical Tannsu, and it was so big and fluffy and comfortable and QUICK. My face looked flawless in a matter of seconds!

(guys don't blame me for only using brushes from Magical Tannsu as if im promoting them. but like i already have so many, why would i buy more from other brands right... so honestly i really never bought any brushes from elsewhere before..)

I'm not trying to promote my brushes or anything. Just trying to tell you how important brushes are. Brushes are the best best best tools in applying makeup. I've finally learnt this after such a long period of time and being a victim of fingers and sponges (lol!). I've heard so much about how good sponges and hands are with applying makeup on Youtube. So I thought i could do without my concealer and foundation brushes. Many people say that your fingers are the best tools in applying concealer coz its warmth can melt the product down down blah blah.. NOOO. Makeup don't melt so easily within a matter of seconds and your fingers would just exert too much force (esp on the undereye). And most importantly, there's alot of friction on your fingertips (thats why you can hold things without dropping and that's how you have fingerprints!), so its not good with blending! A SYNTHETIC brush is the best coz the bristles are very smooth and hence can spread out the product effortlessly. With liquid foundation, sponges are ok but i often find them absorbing too much product and also not very good with blending. For powder foundation, sponges gives too thick a layer and its hard to blend with a sponge unless to rub the foundation in. By rubbing on the skin you are basically ruining the concealer and all. So a fluffy powder brush is the best.

These are just my personal opinion! I've never seen this theory anywhere else before (esp about the friction on the fingertips) but they are from my personal experience. If you don't have brushes, give them a try and see how they make a difference! You may not notice it the first time. But by switching from brushes to hands back and fro a few times you'll notice the difference. :)

Hey dearies!

Would like to apologize for delaying reply of emails for the past few days! This is one of the rare times that everything just happens at the same time and its so hectic! Had 2 parties to attend on Friday and Saturday, and an assignment due on Monday! Totally didn't sleep on Sunday rushing out the assignment. The parties are 21st birthdays of really good friends, so i HAVE to attend even though i have an assignment due.. Tried to reply some emails but really, i had no time at all. SUPER SORRY!!

Have cleared the inbox about halfway already! Will be packing and mailing a batch of mails tomorrow, the rest on Wednesday!

Hey girls :)

I haven't blogged for so long! I know! School has been really mad. Last semester I thought it couldn't get any worse, but the school proved me wrong, again!! An assignment due every week. Crazy! Had one due last monday, another one due today and one more next Monday, plus presentation on Tues which i'm totally unprepared. D:

If you are still in primary/secondary or even JC, you would think one assignment per week is like nothing. But nooooooohh! The assignments are like 2000/3500/4000 essays, complete with citations and footnotes and what nots. Super hard to do coz you got to word every sentence super carefully, and be sure that it makes sense..

I've been surviving on green tea and coffee! omg yes coffee! I never drink 3-in-1 coffee coz they taste so horrible and make me feel sick in the stomache, but now really bo bian..

Anyway i've been googling and experimenting, and this is how i try to make my coffee taste better..

1. Boiling water spoils the taste of your coffee. So dissolve your coffee powder in WARM water first (not too much! just enough to dissolve everything)
2. Add Cocoa/Milo powder and milk (if you like) for better taste!
3. fill the rest of the cup with boiling water.

Tastes much better to me. :)

Oh and and and!!! I finally received my package from glitzy-glam.com!! SO HAPPY with my purchases. Especially the wallet. LOVE IT! I got the brown one coz when i ordered the stuff, all the other colours were sold out. But the brown one turns out to be really nice too! The photo didn't do it justice :)

Shall blog about it with pics next time!

Have cut up 4 bars of soap for myself!

From left to right -Honey I washed the kids, rockstar, I should Coco and Fresh Farmacy!

Fresh Farmacy is a facial soap so i cut into smaller pieces. The other 3 are body soaps, each bar can be cut into 4 pieces. (Got extra pieces for HIWTK soap leftover from last purchase)

Now they are on my bedroom table and my room smells amazing!!!

Honey I washed the kids soap is still my FAVOURITE! Rockstar is nice too! :))

Also using baby face soap (as makeup remover), and Grease Lightning Tea Tree spot treatment for my acne. Coz they were highly recommended on youtube!

sigh. i dunno y there have consistently been people tagging at the tagboard saying haven't heard from me, havent gotten a reply, make it sounding like they've waited DAYS. but when i check its just 1 day or even less than 24 hours! come on, is it really necessary? i can't possible reply so quickly. I already stated in the blog to give up to 3 days. in fact i only usually take about 24 hours to reply.. that's my fastest speed already guys. please be patient and don't go tagging and make it look so bad when it really isnt!!

1. Monistat chafing gel
TOTALLY saves my pores. Makes my foundation (bb cream in fact) go on so smoothly and keeps my face matte for hours! If i don't use this, any makeup will sink into the pores and after an hour or so my nose will be a hideous mess. With this product, there's absolutely NO PROBLEM until even 6 hours later. Around 6 hours later my face starts to get slightly oily and there will be abit of mess on the makeup, but just blot and touch up and its all good again. love it!

2. Lush Honey i washed the kids soap.
THIS STUFF SMELLS AMAZING!!!

3. Missha perfect cover BB cream
YUP. still one of my favourites. I use it EVERY DAY. Has the same or even better coverage than liquid foundations, but MUCH less cakey. The good thing about BB creams is that they don't look like makeup at all. They apply like lotion and looks like your own skin! This BB cream is my favourite coz of the awesome coverage.

4. Benefit Benetint
Gives the most natural and gorgeous flush on the cheeks, and rosy lips! Super easy to blend, just 3 dots on the cheeks and pat, it will just blend itself out beautifully. For lips, i just put one line of product on the bottom lip and press my lips together, it just blends itself out immediately. No need for additional blending AT ALL. It just travels to the entire lip and sips in and dries. I'm super impressed! It is kind of expensive but worth every penny.

5. Refillable power pump brush
Life saver. Super convenient to travel with. And i'm finally giving my mineral power blushes some love. I never use them coz i find it so troublesome to use. But with this brush it becomes super easy!

It suddenly struck me that I have literally been working day and night for the past week, with almost zero entertainment in my life..

Everyday consists of going to school, lessons, homework, readings (notes and textbooks), replying emails, packing mails, updating new stocks, checking stocks, doing meetups.. and other than that, sleeping (like 3-6 hours a day), basic human essentials like bathing, eating etc.. and that's about it! Nope, no TV, no computer games, no going out... The only entertainment is probably watching youtube while packing mails? But thats just running in the background coz most of my attention is still on mails packing, and when the video ended i realise that i didn't really know what it was about. LOL! That's practically been my life for the past week! Was so busy that i didn't even have time to THINK about going out or slacking, coz i'm always rushing deadlines, rushing readings, homework, rushing to reply emails and pack mails before i sleep..

And the online store is like constantly running in the back of my head.. I simply cannot go to sleep when i know theres still tons of emails to reply and tons of mails to pack. I try to reply emails at least the next day.. So i try to reply at least until the previous day's email. If i don't it will just constantly bother me.. There have been days when i already buay tahan go to sleep, but after lying down for 3 minutes i cannot take it and simply have to get up and finish replying and packing. LOL.

Kind of a miracle considering how much i love to play computer games and watching TV. like i used to be a hardcore slacker! i was so pro at slacking that i can slack the whole day away without doing anything productive and dont even know myself what i've done for the day.. My mum ALWAYS scolds me with "you do useless things everyday! don't do anything useful!" (in chinese, haha weird translation but you know what i mean). And today she scolded me with that line again when i woke up late (coz friday no school! caught up on some sleep). And i'm so used to her scolding me that sentence (which always tends to be true), that i didn't rebut and just kept quiet. After a few minutes it struck me, eh wait, i where got slack lor??

But i'm still enjoying the work i have lah.. This post is not a complaining or whining post. I'm just shocked at myself for being so hardworking. haha. (:

Pump Brush!!

I'm soooo excited about this product!

I've wanted a good pump brush for AGES. The thought of it is awesome! No more carrying compact powder everywhere. Just one brush with powder self contained..

YAY now i finally carry it!

I'm so excited about it! Taking 2 of it myself! One for loose powder, one for blush. And i'm gonna carry them everywhere with me. I was so excited that i couldn't wait for the brushes to dry. I hairdried them! LOL

Have tried them and they work awesomely! both the pumping and the brush itself are good!

And the silver ones are actually authentic Bath & Body Works brushes! (huh? bath & body works is skincare stuff what where got brushes..) The brush made for Bath & Body works hair & shimmer powder, but B&B have discontinued their shimmer powder so the factory is selling the remaining. The blue ones are made for PikenZ (an italy brand) which i never heard off but whatever. LOL. the brand doesn't matter since i'm not selling it as branded anyway. I ACTUALLY GOT THE LAST 50 PIECES! 48 now that i took 2. So you guys must hurry if you wanna get it!

SCHOOL IS INSANE!

First week of school is already terrible terrible terrible. The amount of readings is INHUMAN! totally! Thick stack of readings for just ONE lesson, plus more to download from online and to be read on textbooks. Its impossible to finish. I sleep at like 6am, 4am, 5am kind of timing trying to finish the readings i allocate for the day and also packing mails and replying emails. And still not able to finish the readings! And i don't even have tutorials this week! Imagine with tutorials, assignments and projects?

And this is with my shop business cut by half (thanks fo so many stuff being OOS). I can't imagine how it will be when the stuff come back in stock. OMG. packing palettes take freaking alot of time. I take like half and hour to pack 1 palette? Coz i have to check it, cut a protective layer to put inside, then wrap layer by layer thickily, both horizonal and vertical so that all sides are protected.. etcetcetc..

ohman. headache.

I watched Cirque Du Freak: The vampire's assistant yesterday! I absolutely loved the book series so i HAVE TO watch the movie. However the movie isn't half as good as the book. And they sorta modified the story too. Too much fighting scenes in my opinion, and too little of the awesome fine details in the book. GO READ THE BOOK MAN! Especially the first book (vampire's assistants). AWESOME! The next few are good too but much like Harry Potter, towards the end people starts to die. AND I HATE THAT. lol i prefer the happily ever after perfect kinda endings...

Oh and i think i forgot to blog about it but i received my first nuffnang paycheck! woopie~~

School Tips!

My 2nd semester of year 2 in NUS just started yesterday! And this semester i incorporated some organisation stuff into my routine, and in just 2 days i can feel the difference! So i would like to share them with you (: It would apply better for Poly and Uni students!

Note Taking

First thing that I got myself was a notebook. I just got ONE notebook for all my subjects, and this works for me because I'm actually quite careless and messy, so i tend to misplace stuff if I have too much. Neater people would want to go for one notebook for each subject, but for me less is better! The one i got was from value dollar for a mere 2 bucks. I have 3 subjects this semester and i got a 3 subject notebook (literally thats what its called. printed on the cover). A5 size and already sectioned into 3 parts. Very convenient.

I take notes in this notebook during class. I'm tired of bringing my laptop to school coz it's really heavy. So i switched from typing to writing. Also, writing actually forces you to process what your teacher says during class, coz it will be almost impossible to write down everything word for word (for the simple reason that writing is slower than typing, at least for me!) So I HAVE to process what he say and filter out the unimportant/repetitive stuff, and just write down (even summarize) what is important. I find this a better learning style than typing notes, coz when typing i literally type down what the prof says word for word, and i'm so busy just trying to catch his every word that i end up not even understanding.

But of course, notes can be very messy! Coz you do need to scribble very fast, and often the notes are incomplete sentences of just the keywords, So i make it a point to type down the notes i take when i get back home, at the same time incorporate some textbook material into the notes. It's important to type them down in full sentences within 2 days of note taking! Coz that's when your memory is still fresh and you can still make sense of your notes, and even remember the stuff that you didn't manage to write down. Type and print them out into a file.

Of course you can also use paper to take notes. The benefit of a notebook is just that you will never lose your handwritten notes in case you may need to refer to it again (maybe to clarify a mistake in the typed notes) in the future.

To do list

This is another thing i never done in the past. Coz i feel like i can somewhat remember what i need to do. But actually, it makes so much difference! A to do list is different from your organiser. Your organiser is for you to take down deadlines, stuff that you need to do etc. But a to do list is to write down what you need to do FOR THE DAY. And it really helps because sometimes when you only have half an hour of free time, most of the time you'll think that half an hour is too short to do anything, and just slack it away. But if you have a to do list you can look at it and quickly calculate which one can be done in that half an hour. This makes your time so much more efficient! Also, with a to do list you are less likely to forget stuff. And more motivated to complete you to do list.

But remember, be realistic! Don't make a to do list that contains everything you need to do for the rest of the week. If you have a lot to do, you can write some stuff into the to do list for the next few days. Coz if you get into the habit of being too ambitious and write too much in a day but never completes them, you will just be used to not completing your to do list and that's not a good thing! It will give you more excuses to procrastinate.

Organiser

As mentioned above, an organiser is different from your to do list, and i will recommend separating them unless you want to use a big book for both. This is to take down important deadlines, assignments, things to do etc. Usually i write what i need to do in the organiser, and then use my to do list to plan which to do on which day.

I think that's pretty much all i gathered in 2 days! I never used to have an organiser and to do list and of course i got along fine. But as school work gets more and more heavy, i realise i tend to forget things and procrastinate too much. If you feel like you aren't coping, try to be more organised and you will feel the difference, immediately! It makes you enjoy school much more and more confident, coz you know what you need to do and that you have done them, so there's nothing to be worried about, and so less to dread! (:

I saw it on Ohsofickle's blog, there's like an OSF fashion show and an after party, sounds damn fun! Haha i'm going mainly for the fun actually. I never attended any fleas or bazaars before! (coz no time >.<) Which is i know damn failure lah. Coz my friends who don't own online shops even fleaed before! This is totally my first attempt. Excited! But quite nervous too I scared I screw it up...

If you've attended a flea or bazaar before please give me some suggestions pointers or tips! What do i need to do? Shall i decorate my stall? What do i need to take note of?

Post exams

Haven't blogged for really long! (I seem to be saying this for all my posts)

My exams finished on Monday! But my last paper (company law) was so tough that i didn't even feel happy when it was over.. :( SIGH. Went out for dinner with friends after that.. Ate at Kim Gary at Tampines 1. I ordered some noodles and the size of the bowl was like bigger than my face? Its huge! And the waiter gave me a ladle to eat with.. damn amusing. I wished i took a picture of it but i didn't bring my cam.. haha but it was super amusing. i could only finish like half of the entire bowl.. Was thinking its probably meant for 3-4 people. LOL! but it wasn't expensive. the noodles + drink + some fried wanton thing total was about 12 bucks only..

I bought 2 items on Monday from this new brand (new to me at least) called Elianto. I just happened to walk past and saw that they sell BB cream. So i bought a BB cream (around 20+bucks) and some eye masks (30 sheets for $9.90). Tried the BB cream and I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!! Its better than my skinfood bb cream. Stays on pretty well, decent coverage and most importantly it gives a dewy, fresh and youthful finish! Coz of exams my skin had been looking really bad, yellow, dull, lots blemishes etc.. but I wore the Elianto BB cream out the next day and i was so happy with it. Will try it a few more times before i do a full review!

I also bought a Missha BB Cream from ebay which arrived the night that i bought the Elianto -.-. It took SOOOO DAMN LONG TO ARRIVE. actually i bought the Elianto BB Cream coz Missha took so long and i thought i should just buy one to use before Missha comes. BUT LUCKILY MISSHA CAME LATE if not i wouldn't have tried such a brandless BB cream that turned out so awesome! Missha BB cream was really really good too. I bought the perfect cover one and the coverage is better than even liquid foundation! It really does have really really good coverage. but it doesn't give the dewy look like Elianto gave me.. Also only tried Missha once, will do a full review when i used it more (:

After a brief rest on monday, got down to replying emails and packing mails the whole of tuesday. Ended up with 2 huge (and heavy!) bags of mails.. I didn't make it on time for Sengkang Post Office which closes at 5pm, so me and my 8 yrs old sister (who carried a bag for me haha) had to take MRT to Hougang Mall post office which closes at 6pm.. haha recently i met alot of blogshop people at post offices mailing lotsa things. everybody's business is so good. But i really envy people who sells clothes (in terms of packing). coz they just needa throw the stuff into the envelope, seal it and done. The time i take to pack one package probably equal to their packing 5? :S

Wednesday was more resting.. Had a bad headache so i slept half the day away.. But during sleeping had lotsa calls and smses.. didn't sleep too well.. then more packing and mailing..

I'm going down to Raffles City tomorrow (thursday) to take a look at my products that are sold there.. The prices are not so ridiculous already coz they reduced their commission and i reduced my supplying rates too.. The prices are same as Tampines shop now and also has 10% discount if you buy 2 or more of my items. (:

And i'm so glad that one of the colours is a dupe for Urban Decay's Deluxe shadow in Scratch! Coz it was recommended by allthatglitters21 as an awesome lid colour for a natural school makeup look. (: There are a few shimmery pinks in the palette and i couldn't be sure which one is the dupe. So glad to have found this post! And also, there is a dupe for Stila's Kitten eyeshadow! Which is soooooooo popular!! *dances around*

Though i don't really agree with the blogger about skipping 88 matte palette. Coz i use the 88 matte palette more than the shimmer one coz the 88 matte has great matte browns and matte pinks that i love to use. I don't really like too much shimmer on my eyes. (: but i guess that's personal preference.

I'm on project 10 pan now.. And i really have wayyyyyyyyyyy too much makeup.. so my shopping list this time is super short. Just a few items.

Keeping off lip stuff totally coz if you follow me on twitter, you''d know i have 80+ lip stuff.. and actually i found more hidden in bags and drawers, >.<

Everyday Minerals
Not getting anything coz I've already got everyday minerals concealer, blush, foundation, brushes, lip balm... And the products are so huge that its impossible to finish any!

Not even going into the webbie.. Coz i really canNOT buy anymore makeup that i don't absolutely need... Haha but who knows, maybe when i'm ordering i'll just throw stuff in the cart. Sigh.

Not 100 sure if i'm getting this yet.. Coz i still have my MUFE HD primer and my Monistat Chafing gel.. Still considering. Maybe i'll get it next time or something.. But definitely considering this.

The elf mineral primer didn't work too well for me... Haha tried it once and threw it in the back of my drawer. Maybe this one will do better? And its cheaper!
3. ELF High Definition Powder USD$3/6? cant remember the price
I'm running out of my ZA true white vitamin powder (WHICH I LOVE). The ZA powder is a dupe for MUFE HD powder, and this elf one is supposed to be a dupe to that too! Yup so I'm definitely getting this to (hopefully) replace my ZA powder (which cost SGD$20+)

Hey guys!

Just wanna show you guys this!

Haha i just packing a package of 2 palettes. ^_^ And i thought it'd be fun to show you guys how we pack stuff! On the left is 2 palettes packed, on the right is 2 naked palettes.

Yeah baby. That's how much protective wrapping we wrap. No joke.

And the paper we use is waterproof paper, interior lined with plastic. Not scared of the rain~~

HAHA decided to do this coz alot of customers comment that they get so shocked when they get such a big package. And they say that now they know what I mean I'll wrap the palettes really thick. Heheh.

1 palette will be wrapped even thicker than half of 2 palettes. (if you get what i mean. ^_^) Will update picture of 1 palette soon! When I get orders for 1 palette that is.

Yupo, I'm so damn scared of Singpost postman. They are like the roughest creature ever luh.

anyway! i got a Revlon Age-Defying concealer and Maybelline Shine Seduction Glossy Lipcolor in Born with it in the package i received today, and Rosebud Salve Original last week! She also sent me a nyx lippie in Ceto which i didn't order! Not sure if she sent to me by mistake. so I havent touched it yet (:

*UPDATE* Checked with Cheryl! The NYX lippie is a birthday gift for me. And she chose Ceto coz its her favourite ~~sweet~~ shade! (typos everywhere -.-) OMG she's sooo sweet! Come to think of it this is the first birthday present (excluding my family) I've received this year!! (thanks to exam period) THANK YOU CHERYL!!

I've tried Ceto already. Its a gorgeous nudish golden pink! Very pretty. Love it! Topped with Maybelline's Shine Seduction Lipgloss = perfect ^_^

The revlon concealer is really good quality! its very creamy and easy to blend, with good coverage too! I've tried it on my undereyes and i think it turns out pretty awesome! Its sold at $14.90 each (: Really nice for travelling!

Maybelline Lip gloss smells totally like watermelon! OMG LOVE IT. Coz my favourite fruit is watermelon!! It is not very pigmented (as with all lipglosses) but the texture is really really nice. Its not too thick, not too thin, not too sticky, but not those kind that slides right off your lips (like Smackers). Only $9.90

Rosebud salve smells kind of weird, but after i gotten used to it its fine now. Its quickly became my favourite lip balm! Moisturizes my lips really really well. And it doesn't stay on the lips like a lipgloss, it kind of sips in after awhile and my lips feel really moisturized. Its really pretty too! I've tried to use a small amount as a night moisturizer too, a little heavy at first but you just got to rub it in. $11.90

Yup so that's my haul! Love how mascara page provides US drugstore makeup at such affordable prices. ^_^ She carries NYX lipsticks too! Something my customers requests a lot. And other awesome stuff like Covergirl Lashblast and Maybelline's mineral concealer.

Really happy with this haul. Have the Maybelline lipgloss on now. Smells sooooo gooooood....

Regarding Sigma Brushes

Hey girls, received a lot of request to spree Sigma Brushes..

Just wanna let you people know, I've decided I won't do sprees on this brand. Really sorry!

So please don't wait anymore and look around for other spree organisers yah? (:

The reason why I don't want to spree Sigma Brushes is kind of personal. I'm kind of uncomfortable with the brand. I just feel that it is ripping off MAC's hard work and then earning money out of it. I'm not a super huge fan of MAC, but I respect MAC because they take the effort to make good quality products and they are really original with their products. (Same for all the other brands like NARS, Urban Decay, even drugstore ones like Maybelline) But Sigma Brushes seems to be just outright copying MAC's ideas... Think about how much time and research and effort and money and human resources MAC have put in into designing their brushes into the perfect shape and size, using the perfect bristles etcetc. And then Sigma just takes it all and make exact same ones (not even similar or dupe ones..), and not only that, even the name they just simply copy MAC's ones!

I know they are cheaper, (and in fact just cheaper than MAC but not THAT cheaper) but they are cheaper because they are just ripping off other people's research, they don't need to do much yah? Just simply make fake MACs and put an SS in front of it (to get around copyright law probably??). I think that's even worse than outright fake MACs because at least those fake MAC stuff acknowledges the original brand and are super duper cheap. You would notice that Sigma never acknowledge MAC in any way! Imagine how MAC company feels about it. :( I don't know, this is just my own opinion. I think Sigma would be great if they don't just copy MAC so bluntly... I mean, if they just acknowledge that they are trying to make cheaper versions of MAC to make it affordable for people, I would think they are great... Really sad they don't... Its a really really good idea they have, but their way of doing it is... weird. :S

I totally TOTALLY undersand why people want to get Sigma Brushes. I think from the reviews they seem of fantastic quality and that's really good. Just that I don't wanna be part of the Sigma Brushes craze. Sorry dearies! (:

It's been a while i last blogged!

I need to talk about driving.

I was lucky enough to get my license on my first test.. That means I can drive already, right? wrong!

It's been a MONTH since i got the license, and so far i only drove two times, and i can't drive by myself. Need to have the dad beside me.

I cant even do vertical parking properly!

But its really not my fault, coz in school we only need to remember the formula + pole positions.. Now my dad keeps telling me to FEEEEEEEEL IT, FEEEL the position of my car, FEEEEEL how much to turn and all. But seriously i got not feel at all for this!

Waste of money to learn parking in school luh.

Just remember this super embarassing incident.

Stippling brush story + Guide to use it

(pssst. the guide to using this brush is at the end. please be patient in reading!)

DISCLAIMER: this is in NO WAY a comprehensive guide. it’s more of my personal tips and experiences with the brush.

This is one of the brushes that received mixed opinions. Some people loved it, some people hated it.

As for myself, I loved it at first, hated it for awhile, then loved it again.

Then I realised its all about how you use the brush. You should love it if you use it properly. ^_^

It quite a troublesome brush to use, to be honest, but at the same time its rewarding if you do it right.

I’m talking about the Magical Tannsu Duo Fibre Stippling Brush.

This brush is made to be firmer than most other stippling brushes, and this is part of the reason why I love it. Because of such firmness, it is able to blend most liquid foundations very well.

However also because of such firmness of the brush, if you don’t treat it or use it properly, it is not going to be very comfortable to use.

If i have to compare a brush with the Duo Fibre Stippling brush, I’d say it is more similar to the Sephora Stippling brush (not sure the exact name!) than the MAC 187. (our improved Soft Pink stippler has a build that resembles the MAC 187)

The difference is that the Duo Fibre Stippling brush has white synthetic bristles that is not as soft and less bendable (BENDable not blendable lol), while the Soft Pink Stippler has very soft white synthetic bristles that also make its blending power much weaker.

I loved it at first because it stipples and blends so beautifully. Then after that i started to clean it with wet wipes before use, and it started to poke me so much that i stopped using it for a while. Then one day i decided to try it again and it was awesome again. After a really long time then i realised it poked me because i made it wet before use!

So here are some tips i’ve gathered in using our Duo Fibre Stippling Brush

Before use

- As with all brushes, WASH before use to get rid of any factory residual that’s remaining in the brush.

- Especially for this brush, the synthetic bristles needs some breaking into to make it more fluffy and comfortable, so if you want more comfortable application, wash and dry completely for a few times.

- Make sure that the brush is COMPLETELY dry before you use it, because any moisture will make the white bristles even more stiff and hence pokes the skin. In order to optimize blending this brush is made to be as firm as it can be without being harsh, so with any moisture it would become too harsh for usage.

During use

Note that the stippling brush is NOT a foundation brush (the flat kind). It may be commonly used for foundation, but that doesn’t mean it should be blindly used in the foundation brush way. For a foundation brush, you basically dip the brush in to the liquid foundation and draw streaks on your face and blend. You cannot do this with the Duo Fibre Stippling Brush. A stippling brush, as the name suggest, is made for stippling. The white bristles is made to be sparse and separated so that it can stipple liquid foundation evenly onto to the skin. To stipple means you get some product (eg liquid foundation) onto the very tip of the white bristles and dab onto your skin. You will get little tiny dots of liquid foundation on the skin. Do this repeatedly for the whole area that you intend to cover. This way you are distributing the products VERY evenly on your skin. The best way to use this brush is to ONLY stipple the entire face without any blending motions to create an airbrushed effect when the whole face is pixelated with liquid foundation. But of course that would be slow and also we don’t necessarily need such full coverage for everyday. That is why the more common usage would be to stipple the products to distribute evenly, and then swirl your brush gently on the face to blend. So please DO NOT use it like a foundation brush, ie. dip and just start to swirl on the face. this is not what the brush is made for and you will not see the best results. You must stipple first THEN if needed, swirl and blend.

You can also use this brush for cream or powder blushes, especially very pigmented ones. This is because you can stipple to make sure the product is distributed evenly on the cheeks and not just concentrated on one area which makes it harder to blend.

After use

You do not have to wash after every use, but make sure you clean it often (eg after 2-3 uses) especially if you use it with liquid products. One very important thing is to use the brush DRY. So if you have used it and cleaned it with wet tissue, don’t use it again immediately as when it is even slightly wet, it pokes.

I hope this post helps you in your understanding and usage of your stippling brush! (:

Blackberry Story

I decided to talk abit about my blackberry today!

Decided to blog coz I’m getting my first pay from blogging soon.. So I should take it more seriously! LOL

Nuffnang only allows cash out if you have at least $50.. and FINALLY! going to reach $50 soon!! haha abit pathetic right, i can earn more than $50 in half a day from my shop.. But whatever. Must be thankful still! Coz I’m really a damn lousy blogger. No pics or anything (too ashamed to show my face luh).. Can get $50 already very good lor..

Lol anyway. Back to the main point.

I got a Blackberry Javelin (8900) not long ago (probably 2 months ago?) coz my phone spoilt and i badly needed a new one. (With plan = ~$300) I wanted a phone with the kinda function whereby messages are shown in a convo style, means when i read a message i can also read what was sent before that. This makes things SOOOOOO much easier for me coz i used to have to memorised the hp number and scroll down frantically to check what happened before that. Since i have so many customers i don’t save numbers.. I know Iphone has this function too but I already have an Ipod Touch so it’s quite dumb to have that AND an Iphone. I’m not an apple fan anyway. AND xiaxue really got me wanting a blackberry!

BUT I SWEAR. I didn’t get the same one as xiaxue on purpose! I just asked that guy for the cheapest blackberry and he pointed this one to me. Only when i got home then i realised its the same as xiaxue’s one. hahah.

The starhub (my dad’s mobile carrier. mine is singtel) uncle was damn weird! When i told him i wanted a BB, he was like, “you sure you know how to use or not, you buy coz its pretty only right?”

HUH??

Firstly, he either takes me as an idiot (for thinking i won’t know how to use a BB! BB is damn easy to use!) or he’s an idiot that he thinks its hard. Secondly, did I hear him say the BB is pretty??? Seriously, i don’t discriminate phones for their looks coz i care about the function more, but the BB 8900 is far from “pretty” in my opinion. :S

Ok enough about weird uncle.

Its quite sturdy, i’ve dropped it at least 6 times, 2 being damn serious drops, like drop from chest level and still bump up a few times from the concrete floor. Damn heartache :S Mine already got scraches.. But the screen doesn’t scratch easily at all. Mine is scratched coz i dropped it on a rough surface. So far its still working fine.. So yah. that’s awesome.

OH and BBs have 2 year warranty unlike everything else!!! see they are so confident about its quality!

How i saved $3XX

But then, BB is really a money sucker. Basically you need a Blackberry Internet Service(BIS) to be able to tap its full potential. (which is not cheap) You can’t use MSN or Gmail applications unless you sigh up for the BIS. i didn’t coz anyway i’m not planning to use MSN on my phone..

But it still sucked ~$400 out from me for SINGTEL! &*%*($)#_)#$

The BB has wifi, and wifi, by the name of it, should be free. And somemore i could only use wifi when i’m connected to some kind of wireless internet (eg wireless@sg). which means i CANT use internet when there’s no internet around. BUT SINGTEL still charged me huge bucks for “using” Singtel Mobile Broadband (WHICH i SWEAR i wasn’t using coz singtel mobile broadband is supposed to be usable everywhere, mine was not!). The first month was $250+, second month was $130+. JUST FOR INTERNET. Walau I almost fainted when i saw the bill. I dunno what i was thinking but i just paid for the first month’s one, thinking i probably configured it wrongly. But when the second month’s bill came i knew its not my problem already. So i wrote an angry email (haha not that angry lah i was quite calm and poised actually ;P) to Singtel and complained about it. Singtel customer service called me back and so i explained to her the situation again. Of course she also vaguely talked about some configuration thing which i think she also dunno what she’s talking about... And she said she can’t waive it totally but she can put me under a singtel mobile broadband plan of 1GB per month for $19.90. (or is it $29.90 i cant remember), and date the plan back to the first huge bill. Which means they will refund me the extra i paid. YAY!

After she activated the broadband THEN i could surf the net without external wireless internet. which means even the $40 i’m paying them for the first 2 months is unreasonable! (coz before they activated it i couldn’t surf without wireless connection around, remember?) But better than nothing lah. I’m satisfied. :D $40 vs $400 leh..

Yup the morals of the story are

1. after you buy the BB, either get the BIS, or the mobile broadband plan, or get the ppl at the singtel starhub or whereever u buy it from to configure it for you so that it wouldn’t become a money leeching machine

2. if you think something is unreasonable, go reason and fight for you rights!

I still love my BB despite the $400 incident. Coz its so convenient to use, awesome keyboard, AWESOME speakers (SO MUCH BETTER THAN IPHONE OR IPOD TOUCH, even though the BB video quality lose out to Apple big time), awesome battery life (can last me 2 days or more even with intensive usage!)……

and now with broadband i can also check mail and msn on the browser! :DD

I completely adore her. For some reason i don't know. haha. I like these 2 gurus so much that i took the effort to get the USA version of Severnteen magazine that featured them!

Anyway out of poiiint. I'm really really curious about Michelle Phan's skincare line - IQQU. And i have to admit its like an idol effect.. But i've decided to get the IQQU advance sunscreen!

i wanna get also because of the good things i heard about it, and the fact that it can be applied over makeup. what a brilliant idea right! if you forget your sunscreen step in the morning - which i ALWAYS do. at least you still got IQQU!

Anyway i've done some research on the advance sunscreen. Let me just do a summary of the reviews (:

1. it's extremely lightweighted and concentrated.
2. there is only 30ml in the tube for around SGD$50. which is very expensive
3. the formula is very concentrated and you only need a tiny amount for the entire face. even pea size is too much.
4. it can act somewhat as a primer too
5. some people say that this product broke them out
6. it has SPF 35
7. its non greasy, not oily, not sticky at all
8. its kina like a lightweighted mousse consistency.
9. you can apply it over makeup and not ruin the makeup at all.

i also heard good things about the acne serum.. but since i already have my holy grail acne product, i don't need it. i heard good and bad things about it, but its like the best selling product right now or something (: so you might like to check that out!

e.l.f Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder review!

The picture on the elf site don’t do justice to this product at all!

The colours are so so much darker than the picture!

I think a lot of people would be turned off by the picture coz, if the colours are so light, how is it going to show up on the skin??

but nooo the colours are really nice in real life!

ok this is more like it. but still, in real life the colours are still darker than this!

but can’t blame elf, cameras really washes colours out. i also have such problem with i take pictures for my shop.

and look at the big big mirror. love it!!

Ok onto the review!

I really like the blush side. i think its really really chio. its a peachy pink colour. People say that its a dupe for the Nars Deep Throat blush. I don’t have deep throat (its like so expensive and not available in Singapore), but i do think its a blush that can work for all skin tones. its so pretty!! there is a similar colour in the 28 piece blush palette, but this one is really nice to travel with! and really convenient if you’re in a hurry, and the big mirror is a plus!

the blush is quite pigmented but still easy to blend. it has golden shimmers that gives you the flushed glow. the contour side has golden shimmers too.. i’m not too impressed with the contour shade. hmmm the staying power not very good and the colour isn’t a true true brown. there is golden shimmers in it and it has a slight maroonish golden undertone.. when i put it on i look like i got a tan instead of looking slimmer. haha hope you get what i mean! i would prefer contour shades to be matte and true brown without any other undertone. the dark shade would be nice if you are looking for a BRONZER, but not as good as a contour shade. i much prefer my contour palettes :D

but still, the contour shade in the elf duo can be used as eyeshadow! it won’t be exactly wasted.

so all in all i love this product. i’m so glad i bought it!!

Overall i give 4.5/5 for this product.

yo! just received an email from Destiny asking whether im alright coz i haven't been on twitter or blogging for 3 days.

i didn't even notice!!

basically i've been using all my free time (other than school, mail packing, replying emails, etc) to sleep. dunno why i've been sleeping aLOT the past few days. but i guess thats good coz i do need some good rest. ;)

anyway going to reopen shop today (i'm not even ready for it :S)!

and actually my life is so immensely boring i don't find much things to blog about.

oh yah sunday i went to my friend's surprise birthday party organised by her bf! damn sweet right lol. i helped prepare food and drinks and decoration.. it was in a hotel and we decorated with balloons and streamers and helium balloons too. before she came up we lit the cake and offed all the lights. when her bf brought her in we all come out and pull poppers on her. LOL. was damn fun!!

in that post i was talking about how i cut my brush guard (greedily coz i wanted to turn 1 into 2 :S) and end up the whole thing came apart and i left with none!

a really really kind girl shared how to cut it without destroying it (:

School
has been pretty okay. Even though i'm still busy with blogshop, I've been trying to keep up with school work too. BUT!! My school food court/canteen food is lousy to the MAX. (My school = NUS Bukit Timah Campus. Main campus food is awesome) I'm the kind of person who can eat anything, and I can always find something i like to eat one. I LOVE FOOD, and i always daydream in class about what to eat later. This doesn't even happen now coz there's nothing to daydream about. Last year was still not bad, overall quality isn't the best but there was one stall with decent food that I look forward to eating. This year they renovated the canteen and changed all the stalls (reduce the number of stores somemore. doesnt make sense right!) and the stalls this year is like super cannot make it. SIGH. For instance the mix-veg-rice-cum-malay-food-fusion-store (i dunno what the stall is actually called but its super weird, look like mix veg rice but the vendor are malays and the food are super chinese-malay fused together) has the ability to burn their meat without looking like its burnt, and the vege is seldom fresh. The western food basically nobody buys there unless all other stalls has long queue and the person is starving, I heard that their fried fish is basically fried flour. :S Never dared to try it myself. The noodle stall is okay, i've been surviving on this stall for the past few weeks. Its not delicious but still edible, but not something to look forward to eating..

MAC
paint pot in Bare Study is my second MAC item that i got from a MAC store. (i bought online tendertone and MAC lipstick before). But i didn't get it myself. Someone gave it to me as a surprise gift. People who follow me on twitter will know who ;) Damn happy! Happy not only coz i finally have a full size paint pot, but happy coz that person actually remembered which colour i wanted to buy full size and got it for me. ^_^ So sweet!

Project 10 pan
After failing the first one terribly (I started buying makeup before i even finished 1 product and before i even had a chance to blog about it), I decided to start 10 pan again. THIS TIME I MEAN IT!! no more purchases until i finish 10 products!!! (hahah but i still have a drawer-full of unopened elf loots to keep me going. LOL. damn cheat right)

Not sure if you read my rant about Nuffnang!! But after 5 months of no earnings, I just checked 10 seconds ago that i finally started having earnings again!!
yay awesome.
And the reason is (i think) because i shifted the banner. Most people put banners in the sidebar so competition is heavy. I changed it now to the top instead, so probably less competition.
Actually nuffnang suggests to put the banner at all 3 places - sidebar, top and between posts. Like that you get triple the chance of getting ads. Budden i think that's abit too much ah. lol.

Taiwan flood victims throw donated food into dusbin?!

quite disappointed with these Taiwan people eh.

if you cant i just briefly tell you what happened..

some charity people woke up at 5am in the morning to make packet food for the Taiwan Flood victims, and send to them for them to eat. (rice and vege and meat i think)

Note that those Taiwan victims everyday also cry and complain no food to eat one. its all over Taiwan news.

and when these packed food reach them, they see the food, say "walau do we have to eat such lousy food!"

and they didn't touch all the packet food at all, and threw them away into dustbin. all the food eh! people woke up at 5am to cook and pack for them eh!!!

and reporter interview them, they say, "of course don't like to eat (this kind of food!), we like restaurant food"

really really nothing to say sia.

Rimmel workshop
it was fun. haha but the makeup artist who lead the whole workshop (guy) has a super foul mouth. i think its his way of humour. i got 'attacked' quite a few times. and so were everybody i think! lol but i wasn't offended or anything. didn't take it to heart. its just his way of making the whole thing more lively. he's quite funny actually. but one girl was super offended and angry.. :S

i enjoyed this workshop coz they helped to shape and pluck everybody's brows! damn nice right. and there was only 20+ people, and around 5 makeup artists. so they could spend time with each of us giving suggestions and teaching us personally. that was really really nice of them.. if got time i'll post a full blog entry on this (:

Magical Tannsu Eye Primer
pretty sure will be launched somewhere in september. am still debating whether i should put logo on it. sigh. will be passing out sample sizes too when its ready to launch! but i've decided to make it in a pot form instead of lip gloss tube form. will put in a glass jar that's big enough to dip and swirl fingers in. (glass jars will also seal moisture better so it won't dry up) coz i experimented with the ingredients and realised that thicked/drier consistency makes the eyeshadows prettier looking. haha.

Life
is busy. partly coz i've been trying to do my school work faithfully. trying not to push back what i have to do.. and i m teaching 1 more student now. i tutored her last year too but then my schedule was too full this year and we stopped tuition. but she didn't like her new tutor and felt like he wasn't helping her much. she told me she needed my help and i can't really turn that down. plus i think if i just squeeze my time abit harder i can find the time. she's a really sweet girl so its enjoyable teaching her too.

i completely failed my project 10 pan* (before i even got a chance to blog about it lol). no only have i not finished any product yet, i also bought a MAC tendertone, a MAC lipstick and a watsons lip balm. sigh. completely no determination and no self control at all.

the tendertone smells soo soo good. i really wanna get like all the colours but its discontinued. you can try allcosmeticswholesale.com they sometimes have discounted tendertone! i totally love it. it doesn't have much colour and not very long lasting. i just use it as a lip balm and for that its awesome. the smell alone is worth it. LOL

one is super lousy (purple) and one is decent one (brown).

haha but its coz the Magical Tannsu Primer that i used to test is slightly tinted (with bronzy tone), that probably why its looks even more vibrant than the ones with UDPP. (we are going to start by launching 2 versions. 1 is nude and one is bronzy kind. haven't think of fancy names yet)

but still! i think (very shamelessly i know haha) that its like super comparable to UDPP in terms of making the shadows more vibrant right!

I have submitted a report to livejournal and it was replied within a few hours. (awesome job livejournal!)

Apparently posting other people's address and info against those people's wishes is against livejournal's policy too. HOWEVER, they don't accept third party reports yet. So as long as my friend's info is not up, livejournal can't interefere (coz i got no proof that those 2 girls whose info are up there already didn't want their info there). So if they don't put my friend's info up, they're "safe"...

actually its not i never thought of just letting my friend pay the $7.5 to get the thing she don't want to avoid being "blacklisted". but its really not my style (and not my friend's style too) to just succumb like that. haha.

by the way my friend's info is not up on that blogshop yet. i'm not sure what they are waiting for also. coz when i told them the possible legal implications they were like we don't care and its a common practice and we WILL put it up. that kinda thing. but then they haven't put yet.. i'll wait and see if they do..

about blacklisting

Blacklisting has become a very common practice in for Singapore blogshops.

And usually people will put name and email, blog adress etc. at most partial home address and partial mobile that is not enough to identify the person. This is still okay.

But when it comes to FULL home address and FULL mobile number, its not acceptable.

I mean seriously? Just because a person cancel order, you publish her address and handphone on the internet?

Girls please be careful, AVOID blogshops that may reveal your information on the internet! Even if the blogshop is ulu and nobody go, there is this thing called GOOGLE and that means someone can get ur address and phone number super easily. This is potentially dangerous!

What if there's some old lecher looking for young girls to target?? What if some criminal want to kidnap young girls? Since majority of the people blogshopping are girls, this is DAMN DANGEROUS! Why will you want to put another girl in such a potentially dangerous situation just because they decided to buy something and change their mind???? The blogshop blacklist is like a FREE and DAMN PRECISE database for them to find their victims??

They do have a disclaimer. The problem is a lot of the girls shopping online are minors and incapable (by law) of consent or getting into any contractual obligations by themselves! and it is definitely unreasonable to reveal a person's full address and hp number simply coz of a cancelled order. Like that those big restaurants or kbox or what should start printing books of address of people who reserve table or room but don't go? like hello? don't be so childish can???

I've tried to talk to them but they obviously take my smses as a joke. First they say i'm lagging behind (probably think i'm damn old since i told them i'm the girl's tutor). Then they think i'm trying to terrify them ("I'm not terrified You a law student? -.- I'm a lawyer then."). And they repeatedly tell me they are BUSY. PLEASE. Are you busier than me?

ok i'm being childish too. but this is ridiculous. i have seen NUMEROUS blacklists around the internet. but nobody does it till publish FULL contact information!! What kind of people does that?? And its not like my friend scammed them damn alot of money, she just ordered something (instock) worth $7.5 and then cancelled order the next day. LIKE PLEASE? WHAT HARM HAS SHE DONE YOU THAT YOU WANT TO PUT HER IN SUCH DANGEROUS POSITION HUH??

(but buying domain still have to pay lah. bo bian). and i have to do every every little detail by myself. doing the website template alone already took me DAMN long coz i had to study html and edit the template to suit my own need and learn about domain pointing and blah and blah and blah. (google was my best friend) URGH why am i so cheapskate ah. :S

i think i'm like becoming superwoman!

yesterday (since its 0.01am now) was succh a long day for me. i had like 3 hours of sleep (coz tried to study.. but ended up watching youtube), woke up at 7+am, chiong to NUS main campus to exchange ez-link card (like SERIOUSLY why can't they just send the cards to bukit timah campus!!). then rush to school for lecture. then lunch, mug, and another 3 hour lesson. and MIRACULOUSLY i didn't fall asleep during the 3 hour lesson! i was like full concentration all the way and taking notes and when the lesson ended i felt quite energetic. LOL. school ended at 6.30pm.. and then chiong to kovan to give tuition to a last minute hug buddha feet girl! seriously she's has like prelim today and she haven't read half the textbook?? i don't know how to help her already. >.<

anyways after tuition (which was 9+pm, effectively 14th hour outside home) then i felt the fatigue creeping all over me. i walked DAMN slow home lah. lol but i shower, lie on bed awhile and then got up to work again (reply emails and stuff). haha. POWER SIA!

(i'm probably not typing coherently coz my brain is half dead. haha)

i decided to rent a space in another shop at Haji Lane. but probably sell 1 palette there only coz i only renting a puny space which is only enough to display ONE palette. haha. its not confirmed yet though. Haji Lane is abit far from my house..

im kinda enjoying school now. the profs so far are all really nice. teach at appropriate. and all are quite interesting except company law one.. which cannot blame the professor lah the subject itself is really dry. don't have interesting stories (cases) like the other subjects have.

oh like 2 days ago i was in a very cheerful mood. and walking halfway something came fluttering down and landed beside me. being in a beautiful mood, i was like OH must be a bird trying to get close to me or something..

and i turn my head only to see a hideous cockroach still fluttering its wings on the floor, like, half a metre beside me...

i don't have the Maybelline gel liner and so i can't compare. so glad icyabstract did a comparison! i've been recommending the Maybelline one to people coz i heard really good stuff about it. but now i think i can confidently say my gel liner is comparable to the Maybelline one! ^_^

im so sad i still don't have it yet! its been out of stock at Magical Tannsu for over a month already. i have an explanation for the long OOS period at magicaltannsu.blogspot.com. basically its coz a huge customer of the factory took REAAALLY long to decide what jar to use and stuff. but in the end the factory decided on glass jar again. so no formula or packaging is going to be changed. (:

im hoping it'll come back instock this week. FINGERS CROSSED! last week the factory manager forgot about my order!!! that's why its still not here. hope he doesn't forget again!

there's like so much product in the glass jar and u only need a slight amount each time that i'm thinking a person will never ever use it up. haha.

what have i been up to??!

haha. i was stuck at making the new website remember. now finally making some progress!

i spent the WHOLE day (amongst doing other things of course) editing one photo!!

and here’s the product

i know my photo taking skills sucks too. lol. what a weird angle its at right. but i cant take upright photos either coz the flash will reflect too much light.

seriously, i have ZERO photoshop knowledge. and i didn’t even make this using photoshop. photoshop is wayyyyyy to chim for me. (and besides its so expensive!) i downloaded another software (which only comes in chinese :S) and spent the whole day experimenting with the different options.. and finally came up with this………

this is like the best i can do already. what do you think of it? >.<

but now that i’ve figured out roughly how to use the software, the rest should be easier.. still got alot of photos to take and edit. hopefully i can get the new site up before school starts..
